  3. If you choose SECURITY ACCESS, press "Request_Seed_Variantcoding" to obtain the seed request: "Request_Seed: XX XX XX XX." If you use the MANUAL COMMAND INPUT method, input "27 OB" to receive the seed key request.
  4. Calculate the seed key answer and press "Send_Key_Variantcoding," entering "XX XX XX XX." If you used the MANUAL COMMAND INPUT method, input "27 OC xx xx xx xx" instead.
  5. If the ECU responds with "eALL_POSITIVE" or "67 OC," it means the ECU is unlocked and ready for variant coding.
  6. Your ECU is now unlocked and ready for variant coding. It will remain unlocked until it's reset or disconnected.

DTS Monaco - SMR-D File Method
  1. Start DTS Monaco and connect to the ECU through the SMR-D file (e.g., MED40).
  2. Navigate to SECURITY ACCESS.
  3. Request the seed key by selecting "Request Seed Variantcoding." You will receive a "Request Seed" in the format "0xXXXXXXXX."
  4. Calculate the seed key answer and enter "XX XX XX XX" in the "Settings Seed Key" field.
  5. Press "Send Key Variantcoding." If the ECU responds with "RESPONSE.PDU 0x67,0c," it means the ECU is unlocked and ready for variant coding.
  6. You're all set! The ECU is now unlocked and can be used for variant coding. It will remain unlocked until it's reset or disconnected.

An alternative method for unlocking without a seed key is to:
  1. Connect the plug-in.
  2. Access MED40 or MED177 via Xentry.
  3. Initiate an online SCN operation. Note that the plug-in will interrupt the connection.
  4. Enter Vediamo to MED40.
  5. Perform variant coding.
