Unlocking Anti-Theft Protection on Mercedes C250 W204, NTG5, and NTG4.5 | Expert Guide
The safety of your Mercedes-Benz vehicle is paramount, and the anti-theft protection system plays a crucial role in ensuring your car's security. If you've encountered issues with activating this system, we've got you covered. In this guide, we'll walk you through everything you need to know about anti-theft protection activation for Mercedes C250 W204, NTG5, and NTG4.5.

Understanding "Anti-Theft Protection Activated"
"Anti-theft protection activated" is a message that can appear on the dashboard of your Mercedes-Benz when the anti-theft system is triggered. This happens when someone attempts to break into your vehicle or when an unauthorized person tries to start your car. When the anti-theft protection system is active, it prevents the engine from starting and triggers an alarm.

Activation Requirements
Before you can activate the anti-theft protection, you'll need the following:
  1. A diagnostic device like the MB SD CONNECT C4 DOIP, capable of connecting to your car's OBD2 port.
  2. Xentry OpenShell, specialized diagnostic software designed for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
For professional technicians and independent repair shops, a full Mercedes Star Diagnostic tool with C4 DoIP VCI and all required diagnostic and coding programs may be preferred.

Steps to Activate Anti-Theft Protection
Follow these steps to activate the anti-theft protection for your Mercedes C250 W204, NTG5, or NTG4.5:
  1. Park your car in a suitable location.
  2. Connect the diagnostic device to your car and computer.
  3. Use Xentry OpenShell to scan the vehicle and read any fault codes.
  4. Check for errors in the headunit module in Xentry.
  5. Check the error displayed on your car's screen.
  6. Connect the headunit module in Vediamo or DTSmonaco.
  7. Reset the module and check if the anti-theft protection has been successfully activated.

If you encounter any issues during the process, our professional team can assist you remotely for a small fee.

Alternative Method Using Xentry Diagnostic Software and ICOM NEXT A VCI
For those who prefer an alternative method, follow these steps using Xentry diagnostic software and ICOM NEXT A VCI:
  1. Connect the ICOM NEXT A VCI to your vehicle's OBD-II port and your computer.
  2. Launch the Xentry diagnostic software on your computer.
  3. Select "Control Unit Adaptations" from the Xentry main menu.
  4. Choose "SAM – Signal Acquisition and Actuation Module" from the list of control units.
  5. Click on "Initial Startup" in the "SAM" menu and select "Development Data."
  6. Choose "Control Unit Adaptations" and then "Anti-Theft Protection."
  7. To activate the anti-theft protection, select "Enabled" and save the changes. To deactivate, choose "Disabled" and save the changes.
  8. Exit the Xentry software and disconnect the ICOM NEXT A VCI from the vehicle.

Please note that the specific steps for activating or deactivating anti-theft protection may vary depending on your Mercedes model and year. For further assistance, consult your vehicle's owner's manual or a professional mechanic or authorized Mercedes dealership.

By following these steps, you can ensure the safety and security of your Mercedes-Benz, keeping your vehicle protected at all times.
