The circuitry within a MAF sensor looks to be a lot more sophisticated than I thought. Can alternative devices from different reputable manufacturers affect outright engine performance ?
I only ask because I recently swapped out the OE Bosch component (at 136,000 miles !) for an identical looking part made by a German company.
It works fine in every way (following the usual adaptation process) but I sense that my 2001 986 Boxster S has lost just a little of its former sparkle, particularly in acceleration.
Can the Bosch component justify its much higher price ?
