Glow plugs play a critical role in the operation of diesel engines, especially when starting in cold weather. A bad glow plug can result in various issues, from trouble starting the engine to noticeable power loss. 1. Trouble Starting the Vehicle

This is particularly noticeable in cold weather when the engine needs additional heat for ignition.

2. Poor Acceleration
