FORD immobilization system
The FORD immobilization system is called PATS
(passive anti-theft system)
and can be divided into three systems:
PATS I: Introduced in 1997 and has one (1) master key and two (2) slaves. In this system, the master key (red) is the codification of the slave key (black). With the tracker can not make encryption keys. Just do readings, see fault codes, test actuators and delete keys.
PATS II: Introduced in 1999, it has no master key. The key transponder may be encoded with the help of a diagnostic device.
PATS CAN: equips vehicles after 2005, and so the keys can be coded with the aid of a scanner.
The LED immobilizer error anomaly is mounted next to the watch and has the red color, or have the design of a lock in the center of the instrument panel. When you turn the ignition key, the LED lights for three (3) seconds off. If it stays on or blinking means trouble in the immobilizer. This time if given the starting the engine fails

turns because the relay starting inhibitor cuts the starter. If given a "stride", will not work because the immobilizer system also cuts the fuel pump, ignition coil and injection valves.
The vehicle comes from the factory with two black keys, however can be encoded up to 15 keys (for PATS 1) and 8 (2 for PATS and can).
FORD in the central immobilizer can come embedded coil / antenna or built into ECU or the instrument panel as in the pats can.

CODING KEY IGNITION
WITH TRANSPONDER
There are two procedures for key encryption:
1) In this procedure the system is the PATS I and therefore master temchave:
- This system only accepts coding if we have at least two keys to program and maximum 15.
- Remove the keys already exist, before making new programming. It is only possible to clear them with the help of a diagnostic device.
- Place the master key in the ignition and turn until the lights on the panel light up.
- Note that the PATS LED lights on the watch for 3 seconds and then goes out. At this point, remove the master key and in less than 10 Seconds put the key to be programmed into the ignition and turn the key.
- Note again that the PATS LED lights for 3 seconds and then goes out. At this point, remove the already encoded key and in less than 10 seconds puts the new key to be programmed into the ignition and turn the key.
- Note again that the PATS LED lights for 3 seconds and then goes off. At that moment. remove the 2 key already coded and in less than 10 seconds put the key in the ignition and turn MASTER key.

-
2) The following procedure is for PATS II.
This system has no master key, however can be used one of the black keys as the master key. :
- This system only accepts coding if we have at least two keys for programming and a maximum of 8.
- No need to delete the keys already exist, before making new programming. But if you want, you can delete them using a diagnostic device.
- This example procedure will consider that we have a coded key and want to encode other. Let's call key coded key and one key to be coded key 2
- .Replace 1 key in the ignition and turn until the lights on the panel light up.
- Note that the PATS LED lights on the watch for 2 seconds and then goes out. At this point, remove the key 1 and in less than 10 Seconds put the key 2 to be programmed into the ignition and turn the key.
- Note again that the PATS LED lights for 2 seconds and then goes out. At this point, remove the key 2 already coded and in less than 10 seconds put the key 1 again in the ignition and turn the key.
- The PATS LED will light up for 2 seconds and off.
- Are you ready coding 2 keys. The procedure is the same for more keys.

PATS CAN
PATS CAN E necessary to use a scanner to make the programming of chaves.o procedure and simple, but a little slow because the immobilizer system asks for a time of 10 minutes for coding, and if you miss the procedure it doubles the time request .the procedure and all described by the scanner.

MODULE ELECTRONIC INJECTION (ECU)
The injection module can be replaced by another new or used. However it is necessary to do the encoding and for this the help of a tracking device is required. Enter the immobilizer function, choose the ADAPTA ECU function and code ownership provided by the equipment now, follow the procedures provided by the diagnostic equipment. If the control unit recognizes an abnormality in the immobilizer, will be recorded a flaw that can be seen by a tracker
CENTRAL IMMOBILIZER
The central immobilizer may come built into ECU central, panel or incorporated coil / antenna.
EMERGENCY STARTING In FORD
does not exist emergency start.
